Chapter 445 – Luck Is a Part of Skill
Couple quiz time.
Just like its name, it was a quiz designed to be answered by a couple or one of them. Mr. Strange would be the one giving the question as well as the judge of this quiz.
Three booths and a podium were put in the open area. Light shone on the booths and the podium. Many spectators curious about what happened stopped by and watched.
Behind Mr. Strange who stood at the podium was a large screen, showing a 5x5 grid with numbers starting from 1 to 25.
"Alright, couples! Behind me is a grid with numbers, as you can see. Each number has a question about your couple, about yourself, or even about your relationship. Do remember, every grid has a different question. And all you need to do is to answer them!"
A simple quiz. There was nothing hard about it.
"Each question will have different scores. A couple who managed to gather the highest score will get a CP, Couple Point." Mr. Strange continued to explain the rules. "That's it. Can the boys come here, please? We won't need you guys in this section."
"That's a harsh way to say it, Mr. Strange. Can you at least say, 'This is ladies' turn' instead of saying that we aren't needed?" Max commented lightly with a huff.
Mr. Strange only laughed and waved his hand.
"Same thing. You boys should just accompany me." He said, "Come here, come here."
Max shuddered and took a step back. That just now sounded pretty dangerous, like a kidnapper trying to get a child's attention by waving a delicious candy.
However, as the other two boys, June and Maxwell, approached Mr. Strange, Max couldn't say no. He turned to Lily before leaving.
"Good luck."
"Un, leave it to me."
After wishing her luck, he joined the other boys. He nodded at them and sat on the chair prepared by the staff.
When they were seated, the light shining on them disappeared as if they wanted to hide the boys and made the audience focus on the girls.
Airi looked panicked as she moved her head back and forth. Queeny looked confident as she flicked her hair back. While Lily looked calm, she didn't even care about the gaze people directed at her.
"Umm, Breeze?"
"Alright, number 5!" Mr. Strange shouted strangely and the grid on number five turned around.
It expanded to fit the screen, but it was still blank.
At the same time, a screen appeared in front of Max. He looked at it curiously and read what was written in it.
"When is your birthday?" He muttered in a low voice, but the two guys heard him.
"Ah, it is that kind of quiz, huh?"
"I see. So we're here to give the answer before the question is shown to the screen."
Mr. Strange didn't say anything at all and only waited. He looked at Max and smiled, gesturing for him to quickly fill the answer up.
Max nodded in understanding and filled it up. The screen on the board changed as soon as he pressed okay, displaying the question and the score.
"What is your lover's birthday? The score for answering this correctly is 10. This must be pretty easy, right?"
Max agreed with Mr. Strange. Even he knew Lily's birthday. She was a day older than him, being born on April 1st while he was born on April 2nd.
However, the same couldn't be said for Lily.
In a way, she was interested in Max and wanted to know everything about him. She learned many things when they were together in their conversation.
But birthday was one thing they never talked about. They only often talked about Lily and then she would ask Max about himself. If not, they would talk about work and how they were doing that, sharing their experience.
Lily turned silent, looking at the darkness where Max was sitting anxiously. She was afraid that if she answered wrongly, he would get angry at her.
'No, Max won't get angry.'
She just knew about it. So she took a gamble.
"30th of February!"
At her answer, everyone laughed loudly.
