Chapter 37 032 Equated with Gods
Bai Zhongqi looked down at his left arm, at the site of the surgery. Not even a scar was left. The medical technology of Iridium Star seemed magical to Earthlings. The incision was patched up with his own cloned cells. The atomic-level operation capability was a seamless integration, making that patched skin look a bit newer.
He clenched his fist and moved his arm a few times. Bai Zhongqi still felt a bit uncomfortable, but it was a minor issue, akin to a cramp or numbing of the arm. It was hard to imagine that he had just replaced a bone in his body.
Merely by thought, Bai Zhongqi could control the game. This process was not much different from his regular daydreaming. However, this "daydream" became exceedingly detailed and real, and indeed, he could command anything from the massive R19 Fleet's Battleship Cruisers to the most ordinary smart device through this "daydream."
"This has completely exceeded the scope of a game," Bai Zhongqi exclaimed excitedly.
The power of the Supreme Command lay in the fact that any mechanical device made on Iridium Star was under the jurisdiction of the Supreme Command. Even a manned fighter jet, normally controlled by a pilot, could have its control usurped by Bai Zhongqi, who could then operate the jet using his thoughts. Now, every device and system on the Sacred Falcon was under his direct control.
Even if an Iridian wanted to harm him, they could not use any Iridian device to do so.
The first Supreme Command Bai Zhongqi issued to all Iridian devices was that no Iridian creation could harm the Chancellor!
Even the most ordinary electromagnetic rifle, if aimed at Bai Zhongqi, could not fire at him under the coercion of the Supreme Command. All warships, if they assessed that their attack could affect Bai Zhongqi, could not carry out the attack, no matter who issued the order.
The Supreme Command was the highest law of all Iridian mechanical creations, insurmountable and mandatory!
Bai Zhongqi finally showed a smile, a genuinely relaxed smile after many days. At this moment, Bai Zhongqi's expression was entirely different from that of the anxious and uneasy Earth youth from a few hours prior. Armed with the Supreme Command, Bai Zhongqi was filled with immense confidence.
Normally, the Sacred Falcon obeys only the captain's commands, but once the Supreme Command is issued, the Sacred Falcon is responsible directly to the Supreme Command, and my orders cannot conflict with the Supreme Command. The Sacred Falcon prioritizes executing the Supreme Command over my commands."
Staff Officer was utterly astonished and said, "Doesn't that make the Chancellor a god-like being in our Iridian world?"
Xu Lanzhou's eyes gleamed as she said, "Exactly, that's pretty much the case. Within the United Empire, no one can defy the Chancellor, and the Supreme Command is essentially the will of the Empire."
To most Iridians, the term 'Chancellor' was both unfamiliar and familiar. Everyone knew or revered such an existence, the significance of the Chancellor was woven throughout the Iridians' lives, with his teachings peppering their speech and his deeds becoming oft-quoted anecdotes. Yet, the Chancellor was also especially remote from the Iridians' daily lives.
In five thousand years, no one had seen him, and he had never directly issued any commands regarding the lives of the Empire's citizens. The only evidence of his existence were the periodic directives from Supreme Command received by Administrative Star and the Fleet, which ordered them to conquer certain planets, defeat certain enemies, or develop particular technologies.
People generally believed the Chancellor to be omniscient and omnipotent, with his directives touching on every aspect of Iridian life. However, people had only seen general directives from the Supreme Command, not specific ones arranging for a warship AI to relay his personal requests.
Thus, when Staff Officer and other Iridians witnessed this scene, they couldn't help but fear the new reality. Before, they had seen nothing but a casual, ordinary young man. Yet, he possessed such terrifying power that he could decide the life and death of thousands in the R19 Fleet, with no possibility of resistance.
Staff Officer thought, "Probably only a Star Warrior master like Nan Ma could stand up to the Chancellor. Even if Nan Ma, with his exceptional Star Energy, possessed remarkable strength, he still couldn't contend with the Chancellor, who controlled the entirety of the Empire's power."
Naturally, the typically jocular Nan Ma, who never seemed to do much of note, would not, under any mistaken impulse, provoke the Chancellor who wielded the Supreme Command.
Feeling a chill down his spine, Staff Officer couldn't help but think, "The captain has brought back a deity to Iridian Star, one who may bring us either calamity or fortune!"
