"Striking a group of terrorists could bear some resemblance to our prior battle on the Northern Continent of the Emerald Sea Star. The opponent won't present a complete organizational formation to directly confront us, nor do they possess weapons that could threaten us. So, the real issue lies in accurately locating them. Once we've identified and pinpointed them, the rest is just a matter of striking," Sun Cheng analyzed to the Sergeant Major.
Wang Dong chuckled and responded, "You're the commander, and I'm just advising. If that's what you think, then go ahead and take a shot at it. The power we hold in our hands is still very formidable."
Sun Cheng also displayed a confident smile. Beyond the nearly thousand mobile infantrymen, Sun Cheng's command system included 16 J-20evo fighter jets and a squadron of aerospace spaceships used as fire delivery tools. Combined with over five thousand Dragonfly Drones, this Middle East Expeditionary Force could easily unleash tremendous firepower.
Sun Cheng was extremely cautious. His intelligence had already identified over a hundred armed terrorist strongholds. By dispatching space-air warships, he could strike these hundred-plus targets in one fell swoop. He thought for a moment and then asked, "So, do you think that our Earth Defense Force will engage in direct combat with Teizene forces?"
The Sergeant Major replied, "The likelihood is quite high. The Teizene's first Expeditionary Fleet alone has a thousand ships, and they are capable of deploying their troops separately. Within the Danlu Interstellar Cloud, there are dozens of stellar systems we haven't fully explored yet. If the Teizene secure a foothold on one or multiple planets, even establishing defensive facilities, the difficulty of defeating them would increase, and at that point, the Earth Defense Force will inevitably have to participate in combating Teizene forces on these planets, and the hardships may well rival those faced by the Universe Army against the Teizene Fleet."
Sun Cheng's expression turned grave as he said, "I originally thought this war might not involve us, but now I realize it was naive to think so."
Wang Dong commented, "In your Earth's World War I, the main participating countries thought they could quickly resolve it, but it ended up dragging on for years, costing millions of lives. One should never take war lightly—anticipating the enemy generously and preparing for the worst are good practices."
He pointed to the system in front of Sun Cheng and said, "At least, you still have some tutorial tasks for now. Learn and practice more. The rest, neither training nor academies can teach; it can only be experienced on the true battlefield."
Sun Cheng nodded and set aside other thoughts, beginning the operation.
