Chapter 243: Heavenly Thoughts (Bonus)

[ Drifting away from everything that has been seen over the course of the journey... A nice beach front appears once again. ]I wake up and immediately notice Akina, Velia, and Aria around me. Each of them appear to be wearing different bikinis.

But they aren’t in bed next to me... It is like they just got done changing in front of me.

I can’t really complain about this since I haven’t really gotten the chance to enjoy such a luxury. This time around I can only wonder what might happen.

"Hey, Rokuro is finally awake," Akina says as she notices first.

Immediately Velia and Aria turn around as well, both of them have their eyes locked on me.

Akina crosses her arms as a small smirk appears across her face.

"Took you long enough," She speaks once more before the others can.

"I was starting to think you’d sleep through the whole day," Aria adds with a light laugh.

Velia doesn’t say anything at first. She simply looks me up and down before letting out a quiet sigh.

"You really do know how to make people wait," Velia says.

I slowly sit up while trying to process everything around me.

Golden sand stretches as far as I can see while crystal clear waves roll onto the shore every few seconds.

The warm breeze brushes past us, carrying the scent of the ocean.

"...This isn’t another dream, is it?" I ask.

Akina shrugs.

"Does it matter?" She replies.

I look back toward the three of them.

Each of them chose completely different swimwear.

Akina’s suited her personality perfectly, confident without trying too hard. It showed off some of the figure that I never really got see before.

Aria’s looked a little brighter, matching the cheerful smile she always seemed to wear. It was also a bit more revealing compared to the others.

Velia’s was much simpler, yet somehow it suited her more than anything flashy ever could. It is a one piece bathing suit that just barely leaves enough for the mind to wander.

Aria giggles beside her.

"We wanted a peaceful day again where everyone can enjoy themselves," Aria speaks up.

"And without you trying to fight someone every five minutes," Akina finishes.

"Fair enough," I respond to them.

The three of them exchange amused looks before Aria suddenly steps closer.

"Come on," Aria says as she grabs my wrist before I can protest.

"We’re going swimming!" Akina shouts with excitement.

"I don’t even—" I don’t get to finish my sentence.

She starts pulling me toward the shoreline while laughing.

Aria drags me all the way out to the water as the others follow behind us.

I can hear Akina laughing as well.

"Let’s try to enjoy all of this Rokuro!" Velia shouts with excitement.

I don’t really know how I ended up in such an amazing dream or whatever this is... But I plan to enjoy it to the fullest.

Hearing all the excitement from them is also enough to keep me from arguing with anyone about anything.

The cold water reaches my feet first before slowly climbing higher.

It actually feels nice after everything that’s happened.

For the first time in what feels like forever... There aren’t any enemies waiting around the corner.

No pressure hanging over everyone’s heads or death lingering in the air... Just peace.

Aria splashes a handful of water toward me.

"Really?" I question.

"What?" She responds with a sly smile on her face.

Before she can move again, I splash some water back toward her.

She lets out a surprised squeak before immediately trying to retaliate.

Within seconds the two of us are throwing water back and forth while Akina watches with an amused expression.

"You two really are children sometimes," She says.

"You’re welcome to join us," I reply.

"I’d rather stay dry," Akina says with a smirk on her face.

The moment those words leave her mouth... Aria immediately turns toward Akina.

Akina realizes exactly what she’s thinking.

"Don’t you dare!" Akina shouts.

Aria smiles innocently.

A wave of water crashes into Akina a second later as she stands there completely soaked for several seconds.

Silence lingers for a second.

"...You’re both dead!" Akina shouts.

She rushes toward us without another word.

I don’t even get the chance to react before another splash hits me across the shoulder.

Velia watches the whole thing from the shoreline, shaking her head.

’I suppose they’re impossible to stop now.’ Velia thinks to herself.

A faint smile finds its way onto her face despite her usual tone and blank expressions.

Watching everyone laugh together...

It feels strangely nostalgic.

Like we’ve been given a brief chance to forget everything waiting for us beyond this beach.

Even if it’s only for today... I don’t mind pretending the world can stay like this just a little while longer.

These experiences are what keep bringing me back to reality. I haven’t had any of these in quite some time so it is kind of nice to enjoy again.

The rest of the day seems to pass as the sun continues to sit in the sky like time isn’t even going by.

Akina, Velia, and Aria all went back to the shoreline while I linger in the water a bit longer.

I gaze down at the water to just barely see my reflection. My long hair is still here which is odd that the girls didn’t question a thing about it.

Then again, this isn’t really a real thing that’s happening. I splash some water on my face before finally making my way back over to the girls.

Each of them is smiling as I finally get back to the shore.

"Let’s all go get cleaned up," Akina suggests.

No one argues that as we head back inside of the house on the beach. Everything inside is quite nice.

Photos of Lilly, Eliza, and even Ghost are all throughout the room. It really does feel like a proper home... If I ever really had one that is.

One that isn’t just some junkyard.

But regardless I take a seat on the bed as I wait for my turn to shower.

"Rokuro come on," Akina says with a smile on her face.

"What are you talking about Akina?" I question with a bit of confusion in my voice.

"Come join us in the shower together," Akina answers without any hesitation.

I haven’t really been all that intimate with any of them since they joined me... Huh? That is something I should probably consider more as the time comes around for it.

Otherwise it might just feel like a bunch of close friends/family... Which is fine if I wanted it that way... But I don’t.

I guess I do want them all.

I stand up from the bed and follow Akina into the bathroom where I see the other two waiting for us. Both of them are already naked and in the shower.

As I go to take my trunks off, I notice Akina is already taking them off for me.

"I get too curious about our dragon here," Akina says with a smirk on her face.

She drags me into the shower with them after that and all I can feel is their hands on my body. Each one moving around until I finally feel something different.

"Glad you are awake," Alice says while sitting next to me.

"Yeah. I was just having an interesting dream I guess," I reply quietly.

"I think we should be good to continue moving now," Alice says with confidence.

"Then let’s go," I reply while standing up.
