"Damn, did we forget to clean this black box the day before we came here?!"

"Don't ask me, I was learning to drive a KMF that day, what about you?!"

"Forget it, let's not talk about that useless stuff... How about I keep watch while you get some sleep?"

"If you're going to sleep, you should sleep outside." A dark figure came out and climbed onto the roof of the car, while another person threw out some trash and then quickly rolled up as well.

"Sigh, our conditions are really bad, when will this ever end..."

"We can only endure it for now. Don't forget, we were recruited into the Britannian army with our hands up, so we have to listen to them in everything, don't we?"

"This is our path. Since we've chosen it, there's no going back. Anyway, I don't want to go back to the EU, that wretched place that can turn a military camp into a prisoner-of-war camp in just a few days..."

"Tch... Hey, what is this...?"

ah!--

Two young men in black were each dragged off the roof of the car by a strong hand and thrown to the ground.

……

……

Two black-clad corpses were pushed under the vehicle, while the two green-hatted men who had just finished the job gathered on one side of the armored vehicle, waving at something in the shadows.

"OK, Sergeant! It's done!"

……

……

……

……

……

"Reconnaissance team report: We have moved into attack positions and are about to begin fire suppression operations."

"Roger, note the direction of the fire line, over!"

"Alright guys, get your gear out." Several men in black were frantically setting up their weapons near the windows of a dilapidated building.

"Aim at those windows and knock out all their firing positions..."

"I'm sorry, everyone!" A voice, filled with apology and unease, came from the stairwell where they had come up.

Everyone turned their heads sharply, and there stood two familiar American soldiers, each with a silver-gray gun barrel on their chest.

"The troublemakers are too late."

Before the words were finished, accompanied by a series of crisp raindrops and the noisy clatter of keyboards, scorching sparks burst from two different gun barrels, tearing out fluttering blood-red butterflies from the dark room and the black body wrapped in armor.

"Alright, that's all."

Outside the window, gunshots and explosions continued to echo along the main road, mingling with the pungent, acrid smell of gunpowder that seeped in through the window.

"Hey! Is that hole spacious or not? Can you see clearly?" He turned around and shouted downstairs.

"Everything is normal, sir!" A soldier, holding a flashlight, slowly advanced into a dark cave inside the building.

It wasn't actually a cave, but rather the entrance to a basement in this building. The wooden planks and bricks that were originally piled up here had been thrown onto the open ground in front of them by the soldiers, indicating that this place had been buried for a long time.

"There's nothing inside! We can all lie here and sleep soundly without any problem!"

"Good!" Sergeant Jonathan breathed a sigh of relief. "Move all the wounded inside and keep them there. You two stay with the wounded. Remember, don't make a sound, and don't try to crawl out if you feel stuffy, understand?! The rest of you, go upstairs!"

……

……

"How's the situation?" He crouched down by the window, and in front of him, Karl was holding up the binoculars the sergeant had given him earlier, looking ahead.

"Sir! There's trouble!" Karl tossed over the binoculars, pointing to a spot not far away.

"My God!" The sergeant looked in that direction and saw a scene filled with flames.

In the flickering light of the street, a massive black steel golem was furiously firing a large machine gun forward. On either side, two armored vehicles, resembling the ones they had just touched, were also slowly advancing, spitting fire. Around them, dozens of black heads, bathed in the sea of gunfire, sometimes strode forward, sometimes crouched down to fire.

In the building directly in front of them, flickering lights sporadically spewed from the dark windows, helplessly shouting at the black flood before them.

Just then, a piercing screech began to echo across the avenue. Before Jonathan could even retract his binoculars back under the windowsill, a mud-colored rose, tinged with a faint flame, bloomed unexpectedly around the man in black.

"It's a mortar!"

Despite the booming of cannons, the people inside didn't seem afraid at all. Tommy, in particular, calmly picked up something that looked like a water pipe from the ground and looked at it like a curious child.

"'Stuff the medicine tube in here'?" He stared at one end of the "pipe." "I actually know that phrase?"

Turn to the other end.

"'Watch out behind you! Watch out for the flames!' Is this thing for setting off firecrackers?"

"Why didn't this cripple sit with the wounded soldiers?" Jonathan seemed a little embarrassed.

"Do you think he'll just stay quietly in that dark room?" Carl shrugged.

“Well, okay…” He snatched the hose from Tommy’s hand. “Here, let me guess how to use this thing…”

……

……

……

……

"Keep moving! Don't stop!" In the blue-purple Sunderland, Captain Joanna was frantically yelling into the walkie-talkie. "Lieutenant Hills! Why haven't our reinforcements arrived yet!"

"Keep the suppressive fire! We don't want to get hit by the artillery in that building again!"

"Ahem, ma'am! Why haven't your helpers shown up yet? They haven't given us any warning. If we open fire recklessly, something bad will happen!"

"Please wait a moment, Lieutenant Taven, let me ask..."

"Calling reconnaissance team! Why haven't you opened fire yet?!"

"..."

"Reconnaissance team! Respond immediately!"

"..."

"What the hell are you doing! Speak up if you heard me!"

Finally, as if she had intimidated the machine, it uttered a few words.

"Yes, ma'am, the firepower is on its way."

No, this tone is completely different from my previous reply!

She looked up abruptly, and suddenly a screech rang out. A shooting star, trailing a tail of fire and smoke, was flying toward them!

"careful!--"

Her heart-wrenching screams were useless. She watched helplessly as the shooting star streaked across the street and mercilessly struck the infantry fighting vehicle not far away. Suddenly, sparks flew from the vehicle, its heavy wheels came to a halt, and wisps of smoke slowly billowed from within.

Immediately afterward, from the window from which the meteor flew, small, fiery flowers bloomed, and the infantry around KMF fell to their knees amidst the whistling of bullets cutting through the sky, falling into eternal slumber.

"Everyone get off the street! Get inside and take cover! Now!" Joanna couldn't sit still any longer and started shouting hysterically into the microphone.

"You son of a bitch..." She began to manipulate Sunderland's arm, changing the magazine of the machine gun. Then came her furious roar. Sunderland picked up the machine gun, aimed it at the damned window, and unleashed a deafening roar.

"Lieutenant Taven! Tell your men to fucking kill those bastards! Now!"

"understood!"

……

……

The purple steel automaton assumed a horse stance, its heavy machine gun driving two mottled mechanical arms, which trembled violently with the deafening roar of the gun. Hot, bottle-sized bullet casings, coated in muzzle flashes, cascaded through the air like waterfalls before falling to the ground.

But war isn't something you can solve just by having a bad temper. The bullets had been scratching at the buildings on the other side of the street for so long that the captain seemed to have forgotten what he had originally planned to do.

Suddenly, a familiar muffled thud erupted from the building directly in front of her, the one she had been staring at intently. Immediately afterward, a small mound in front of Sunderland instantly turned into a swirling mass of sand and gravel, like a giant silk cloth draped over its arms and machine gun.

"Captain!" Before she could react, a hysterical shout came from the walkie-talkie again.

"Directly ahead! We need suppressive fire!"

Damn it! The enemy, whom they had previously beaten so badly, were now filling all the windows with the sparks of gunpowder. A blizzard of bullets and flying debris swept through the street like a pack of wolves charging down a hillside. The iron fangs that clashed with Sunderland's armor only left scratches, but what about the black-clad infantrymen, made of flesh and blood?

She was maneuvering Sunderland to raise the machine gun higher; clearly, the thing that had just kicked up a huge cloud of dust in front of her had seized the initiative. A fiery red cloud of mist, without warning, spread out from the gap at the very bottom of the building, and with a piercing whistle, it transformed into a dark, gaping shell, violently climbing onto the display screen in Sunderland's cockpit!

"Hold!--"

In an instant, KMF's left leg was torn off by a huge black meteor, sparks flying. The four- or five-meter-tall steel doll was thrown into the air as if tripped, then crashed heavily to the ground, motionless.

……

……

……

……

"OK...Sir, it looks like there's an anti-tank gun over there that's silenced it..."

Things were finally a bit better on Jonathan's side. Alongside the outer wall, which was riddled with holes, the soldiers began to lift the blankets woven from dust and stones that were covering them.

"Is anyone injured?" The sergeant was the first to squat down. "Those who haven't died, get ready..."

"Sergeant! Someone's coming!"

……

……

……

……

……

……

……

……

"All players, listen up! Prepare to storm in!"

Two flashlights, emitting a cold, menacing light, suddenly plunged into the dark room like hunting dogs that had caught a whiff of something amiss.

"No abnormalities, proceed."

Behind the beam of light, the men in black followed one after another, slowly moving forward.

"First floor cleared, prepare to proceed to the upper floors."

The dimly lit hall was packed with these uninvited guests, all staring intently at the silent room on the second floor, at the top of the winding staircase. The clamor of gunfire outside drowned out their tense, rapid breathing.

"You four, get your grenades ready."

The four men in black slowly moved their bodies, stepping onto the broken steps as they took out an iron ball from their waists, preparing to pry open a gleaming ring on it.

clatter!--

A creaking sound, filled with unease, suddenly came from the top of the stairs, followed by a second, then a third, each faster and faster!

The young man at the front looked down and saw a fist-sized iron ball dancing and falling down the steps under the flashlight, almost touching his toes!

"Run!" Before the words were even finished, the volcano, filled with dust and flames, erupted on the steps, and the blinding flash engulfed the four people on the stairs in the shockwave.

"Damn it! Everyone take cover! Attack!"

As soon as he finished speaking, most of the men in black raised their guns and aimed them at the unknown room, unleashing a noisy roar.

"Second group!"

A few more arrived. The one closest to the door reached out and threw a thunderbolt into the house. With a clap of thunder, the swarm of bees seemed to understand and stopped buzzing.

"Prepare……"

"GO!—"

The two soldiers suddenly turned to the doorway, and golden bees swarmed out from their dark eyes.
