Chapter 69 Doom 3

Chapter 69 Doom 3

"We have been in here for a while now, isn't it about time we start hunting for the boss?" Yenna suggested while taking a bite from her piece of meat.

"I guess you are right though," He pull out the device Jolly gave him that measures dungeon ranks, "this dungeon seems to be rank 4, so we can't just go blindly looking for the boss, we might die."

He looked at the device as he continued, "Rank 4 means we need to be very careful. We're not strong enough to just brute force our way through, but we are lucky since we are immune to corrupted mana, at least the one inside this dungeon, so we have no real reason to rush... " His voice trailed off, eyes distant as if he was looking at something far away.

Yenna swallowed her food, watching him with a hint of concern. "Vell? Are you okay?" She leaned slightly closer.

He snapped back to the present, shaking his head lightly as if trying to dispel a bad dream. "Yeah, just...thinking. We can't just focus on the boss right away. We need to level up, get stronger, and maybe even figure out how the dungeon is structured to gain an advantage." He looked at her, "And you also need to get stronger, all of you."

He stood up, an expression his face, one that she knew very well. "So, let's start by fully exploring this, and I also need to refine your bodies. I have been ignoring that for far too long, and i believe it is time to change that."

She nodded, putting her piece of meat down and standing up next to him. Her eyes had a similar look to his.

Wren, who was cleaning her claws, turned towards them. "Are we going to go crazy again? What is all this training that you always keep talking about? I do not understand." She let out a heavy sigh.

"Big sis is lazy, lazy lazy." Sia teased while running up to Vell, "don't worry dad, Me an Mia will always be ready for any training you have for us." She gave Wren a smug look as he patted her head.

'damn brat, i was by master's side first, stop clinging so hard.'

He noticed Wren's expression, "Don't worry kid, I love you all equally."

A mischievous grin spread across Sia's face. "Oh, I know you love me more, Dad! It's okay for Big Sis to be jealous." She stuck her tongue out at Wren, who grumbled something and went back to meticulously cleaning her claws.

He doubled back, grinning as he offered her a hand. "It's not about how high you can jump. It's about control. Enhance just enough to clear the distance, and focus on where you want to land. Think of it like... dancing, but with mana."

Sia and Mia were already mimicking his movements, their smaller forms leaping more nimbly from tree to tree. Sia looked over her shoulder at Wren. "Come on, Big Sis! You're not going to let me show you up, are you?"

'This brat, I need to teach her a lesson.' She narrowed her eyes, a sly grin spreading across her face. "Oh, you want to see what Big Sis can do? Fine. Watch and learn, little brat."

She crouched slightly, her body exuding a quiet confidence as she channeled her mana. With a fluid burst of energy, she leapt gracefully into the air, twisting her body mid-jump in a perfect corkscrew motion. She landed effortlessly on a narrow branch, barely disturbing it as she perched like a cat, one leg bent, the other dangling casually.

Sia blinked in surprise. "Whoa! That was... okay, I guess," she said, trying to sound unimpressed, though her wide eyes gave her away.

Wren wasn't done. With a smirk, she pushed off again, her movements a blur of precision and agility. She flipped backward mid-air, landing on a higher branch with the grace of a dancer. Then, with a quick spin, she bounded forward, grabbing a vine and swinging herself across to another tree, executing a flawless somersault before touching down on the ground in front of Sia.

"Easy, no?" She said, brushing her hands together as if she had just completed a minor chore.

Sia's jaw dropped. "Okay, that was kinda cool."

"Kinda?" she quipped, leaning in closer with a smug grin. "Face it, you're outclassed, kid."

Even Mia, usually quiet and reserved, clapped softly, a hint of admiration in her gaze. Yenna, still recovering from her earlier stumble, muttered, "being out done by a kid is so embarrassing," though she couldn't hide her smile.

Vell laughed, clapping his hands. "Now that's what I'm talking about! you're getting it. Control, style, and adaptability. That's exactly what I want to see."

[Master, I am detecting a few monsters nearby.]

'Ohh?'
