Chapter 88 Melee
Chapter 88 Melee
One reason is Connors's "spider-sense," which makes him unable to resist the instinctive "spider silk" of Cindy Moon once they meet.
One is Natasha, the "Black Widow," whose body has been modified to age extremely slowly and who has extensive combat experience.
One follows instinct, the other knows more.
If Connors lacked even one of the three abilities of "Master Driver," "Human Limits," and "Precision Control,"
He might not be a match for either of them today.
Even so, Natasha and Cindy took turns attacking Connors, and he almost couldn't withstand their relentless onslaught.
Fortunately, he barely managed to withstand it. Faced with the deadly attacks launched by these two Marvel female heroes, Connors was able to continue to counterattack using "precision control".
He felt as if he had transformed into the "Weapon Master" from his previous life's game.
Aside from the "Leap Slash," Connors unleashed a relentless barrage of attacks followed by a counter-attack storm against Cindy the Spider Silk and Natasha the Black Widow, then finished with a charged strike.
The game ended with the old version of the ultimate skill, "Grandmaster's Might," leaving Cindy and Natasha utterly defeated.
Cindy is a quiet person, but Natasha was beaten so badly by Connors that she begged for mercy.
What brings you to New York?
"Black Widow" Natasha licked her lips and asked Connors.
"I was originally going to ask Reed, but since you're here, I'll just ask you directly."
Connors organized his thoughts and asked:
How many people are there in total?
"Black Widow" Natasha didn't answer Connors; instead, she asked him:
Who are we?
How the hell am I supposed to know who you guys are? You're a member of organizations like the Red Room, S.H.I.E.L.D., and the Avengers all by yourself.
Connors thought to himself, but said aloud:
"How many of you traveled through time together?"
The information found on Batman's computer showed that Natasha and the others appeared out of thin air, making it hard for Connors not to suspect that they, like himself, had traveled from another time.
"You know a lot," Natasha said, avoiding the question.
Connors remained unmoved:
"If you don't answer, come over here and get some moxa."
Natasha, the "Black Widow," nearly shuddered; the scene of her repeated defeats was still vivid in her mind.
Even with her body enhanced, she was no match for Connors, whose physical abilities, enhanced by multiple powers, were also at the limits of human potential.
As for Cindy Moon, the way she's still trying to repair the weapon with her mouth shows that she's not quite done yet.
"There were only four people: Sheryl, Reed, Jennifer, and me."
Natasha said honestly.
These correspond to female celebrities/singers, troublemakers like Rold, She-Hulk, and Black Widow, respectively.
Connors was not surprised by the pitifully small number of people.
Back in Metropolis, during the battle between Superman and Zod, Connors had already considered the issue of numbers.
However, judging from the current situation, Natasha, the "Black Widow," clearly hasn't finished speaking. Connors asked:
"Now that you're in this world, there's no need to hide anything. Continue. I remember you mentioned 'Ancient One' before?"
Natasha gave a wry smile:
"I was just kidding you."
Snapped!
Connors ruthlessly pulled her over, raised his hand and slapped her pert buttocks, then pointed downwards.
Natasha, the "Black Widow," hesitated for a moment, then obediently lowered her head and slightly opened her mouth.
Connors let Natasha and Cindy fight over the lollipop for a while before pulling her back over:
"—I mean, Cindy didn't come with you?"
"Even she herself doesn't know how she got here. We only found out about her because Cindy sensed our presence and took the initiative to find us," Natasha said with a wry smile.
"What happened to you?" Connors continued to ask, as that was the question he had come for today.
Natasha looked bewildered.
"I don't know. The world disappeared in an instant. If Reed hadn't been researching the time travel device at the time, and if Jennifer, Sheryl, and I hadn't gone to Reed to ask him to redesign our suits, we probably wouldn't even be here today."
"Oh, so the whole world destruction thing was just a lie you told me?"
Connors had this suspicion when he learned that the Ancient One was not there. In order to make "Black Widow" Natasha go to great lengths to find "Silk" Cindy, Reed might very well fabricate a similar lie.
"The world doesn't know, but our world has indeed been hit by an unknown force."
Natasha sat down next to Connors and rubbed her buttocks, which had just been slapped.
"What did Reed find out?" Connors continued to ask.
"I don't know." This time, Natasha really didn't know.
If Natasha could describe the villain's general appearance, I could guess what kind of incident it was, but how could I guess about this disappearance? Connors covered his forehead with a headache.
He didn't plan to go find Reed, firstly because Reed was quite strong, and if Reed knew that he was also a transmigrator, he might not be able to defeat him.
Secondly, since most of the questions had been asked, there was no need for Connors to stay in New York any longer.
After the Atlantis incident, the Justice League could be formed with just Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman, Green Lantern, Flash, and Aquaman, plus any other random person.
This event, which may not be considered a battle or disaster, still carries significant weight in the gossip system, as it is a historic moment.
Connors would never miss such an opportunity to watch the drama unfold.
As for joining the Justice League, Connors had never even considered it.
Cindy Moon, still sharpening her spear, remained focused, believing that her efforts would surely be rewarded when she saw the spear stand upright once more.
My eyes lit up.
After spending a full day and night in New York, Connors finally mounted Black Smoke and sped off towards Boston.
The Justice League was formed with the Big Three: Superman Clark, Batman Bruce Wayne, and Wonder Woman Diana.
He was confident he could get Diana to join, and Clark shouldn't need much effort either. The only one who might not be easy to talk to was Lord Wayne.
Connors planned to persuade the two of them before going to find Batman together.
The black smoke was moving extremely fast, though not as fast as Connors himself could move using "Wave-Riding" in the water.
But it's also two to three times faster than driving normally.
The journey, which normally takes more than three hours, was completed by Connors in just over an hour.
Boston, the city where Wonder Woman Diana resides, even has giant posters of her on the streets.
Her fair and slender legs are particularly eye-catching, and she seems to be quite popular with the people here. If she changed out of her battle outfit into casual clothes, an unsuspecting person might even mistake her for a big star.
Imagining himself carrying the long legs that Bostonians dream of on his shoulders, Connors found a phone booth and dialed the number he remembered.
