Chapter 467 Each Person's Backup Plan

"Respond to the signal, and I guarantee you and your family will survive."

"You can choose not to send it, but I guarantee your family members will die one by one in front of you."

Mystique stared coldly at Dr. Douglas, whom she had lifted into the air with one hand, her words filled with murderous intent.

She's not some self-proclaimed righteous superhero who would kill anyone who stands in her way without hesitation to achieve her goals.

Dr. Douglas's legs trembled. He knew perfectly well that the Supreme Commander of the Sentinels was not there to joke with him; he meant what he said.

Most people are afraid of death, and Dr. Douglas was no exception. He could only grit his teeth and ask, "If I respond to the Hulk's signal, can you really guarantee the safety of me and my family?"

"I guarantee this in the name of the Supreme Commander of the Sentinels," Mystique said.

"Then—put me down first," Dr. Douglas said tremblingly.

With a snap, Mystique released her grip, and Dr. Douglas, his legs giving way, lost his balance and fell to the ground.

But he didn't have time to rub his aching knees; he scrambled to the observatory and fiddled with the instruments.

Mystique followed Dr. Douglas, her eyes fixed on him as he manipulated the device.

Dr. Douglas dared not gamble on whether the other party could understand these instruments. His fingers trembled as he pressed the buttons one by one, edited the content, and sent out the relative coordinates of Earth's location in the universe.

"Hopefully the Hulk receives this message later —"

Dr. Douglas prayed silently.

Even if this message travels at the speed of light through the universe, it would still take a very long time to reach the Hulk's location.

However, Mystique seemed to know all this, and she grabbed Dr. Douglas by the neck again, lifted him up, and threw him out.

Then she pulled a palm-sized instrument from her pocket and attached it to the observatory.

After being thrown out, Dr. Douglas scrambled back over, staring intently at the palm-sized object stuck in the observatory: "Mr. Fantastic Reed once invented a tool specifically for real-time communication over extremely long distances in space."

"This...could this be that tool?"

Mystique nodded: "That's right."

Dr. Douglas could no longer stand and collapsed to the ground with a thud.

He had received a warning from the Illuminati when he received the signal from the Hulk, instructing him not to respond to the Hulk under any circumstances.

The reason is that the Illuminati believed the Hulk was a potential threat capable of destroying the entire human society and deliberately banished him into space.

If the Hulk were to return, the beast's fury would surely ignite a war that would engulf the entire world.

"Do you know what you've done?" Dr. Douglas roared at Mystique in despair.

"I know," Mystique said expressionlessly.

She had no choice; she wouldn't have used this method if any of the mutants like Iceman, Omega Kid, or Magneto were still alive.

She herself is not known for her combat prowess, so the only way to stop the Sentinel robots is to have the Hulk come back to deal with them.

"Hulk—I hope your banishment from the Illuminati has brought your rage to its peak; unleash it to your heart's content."

Mystique silently told herself this, then turned and left, leaving a despairing Dr. Douglas slumped in his astronomy lab.

At Garland Prison, facing the relentless attacks of the Sentinel robots, the mutants and Inhumans finally stopped holding back and fought desperately against them.

Each time Gorgon's goat hooves stomped the ground, they caused violent earthquakes, and Queen Medusa's long hair flew behind her, lifting up tectonic plates into the air and hurling them at the Sentinel robots.

Thunderbird John's muscles swelled to their limit as he rampaged through the Sentinel robots.

A sentry robot silently stretched its arm into a thin thread and blocked Thunderbird John's path. With a bang, a round human head flew into the sky.

Polaris Lorna had finally recovered most of her strength. With a wave of her hands, she lifted the ground beneath all the mutants and Inhumans into the air, hoping to separate them from the Sentinels.

But the Sentinel robots simply eject airflow from their backs or feet, and they slowly rise into the air.

"Concentrate your attacks and find a way to turn all these robots into metal bodies!"

Someone in the crowd shouted, and an even fiercer counterattack charged towards the sentry robots.

Polaris Lorna, with her all-seeing eye, would occasionally strike to completely tear apart the Sentinel robots that had turned into metal, and then use their dead metal remains to reap the lives of the remaining Sentinel robots.

Connors was still slacking off. Based on his deductions, he figured that since he was being targeted by Connor the Conqueror, Doctor Doom, and the Illuminati at the same time, he should hide his strength as much as possible.

After all, not all mutants are kind-hearted and beautiful; some of those imprisoned are vicious and ruthless.

He's not some saintly figure who's indiscriminately showing kindness.

For Connors, his goal was to find and resolve the key to his inability to use teleportation abilities, and then leave with Polaris Lorna.

unless----

"Connors, I don't know why the Illuminati specifically invited you to join. You must have abilities that we don't know about."

Polaris Lorna pleaded earnestly, "I hope you can show your skills and save my companions. After that, I'll grant you whatever you ask for!"

Connors was waiting for this sentence: "If I were to take you—"

He changed the second half of his sentence to be transmitted directly to Lorna's mind via telepathy, to avoid being overheard by Doctor Doom and his crew who might be secretly observing him: "Leave this world?"

"As long as you can save us," said Polaris Lorna with a determined look.

Connors nodded. Forced relationships are never happy; with Polaris Lorna's words, things would be much easier.

He displayed overwhelming power when dealing with the Skrulls in the Blue Sector of the Moon, without revealing most of his abilities.

With Polaris Lorna's assurance, Connors unleashed his full power and charged into the Sentinel robots.

In an instant, the severed limbs and remains of the Sentinel robots flew everywhere. Connors grabbed one Sentinel robot by the body in each hand and swung them around like weapons.

Once his astonishing combat power was displayed, the pressure on the mutants and Inhumans was greatly reduced, and they all looked at their companion with surprise and uncertainty.

"If I had known he was here, I wouldn't have brought the Inhumans to support us—" Queen Medusa stared in disbelief.

She fought alongside the mutants for ages without even realizing Connors was there.

But the more aggressive Connors became, the more Sentinel robots appeared, seemingly endlessly surrounding him from all directions.

The mutants and Inhumans, who had initially relaxed, could only continue fighting with all their might. But no matter how many Sentinel robots they killed, the number of these guys around them seemed to only increase and never stop.

"Is it really impossible even with him here?" Queen Medusa's heart sank deeper and deeper.

Just then, more than a dozen meteors streaked across the sky and crashed toward the earth, their whistling sounds reaching everyone's ears.

Some sharp-eyed mutants immediately recognized that they were not meteors, but spaceships engulfed in flames.

The spaceships crashed to the ground with a thunderous roar, and then a green barbarian figure wearing simple armor jumped out of the largest spaceship.

The Hulk, banished by the Illuminati, has returned.
