Chapter 459 The Prison Break Plan
Chapter 459 The Prison Break Plan
Hearing his wife crying on the other end of the phone, Reed Strucker breathed a sigh of relief.
What he feared most was that the mutants would deceive him, but now it seemed they were telling the truth, and his two children had indeed fallen into their hands.
At least for the time being, there is no need to worry about being pursued by sentries.
"Caitlyn, don't be afraid," Reed comforted her. "Listen to me, the children have become mutants, and we have to join the mutant ranks too, otherwise the Sentinels will eventually find out about our relationship with the children—"
"I am a sentry, and I know perfectly well that these people will torture you to force the children to show themselves and save you."
"So we have to go first, before the sentries notice anything unusual about us."
My plan is————
Reed quickly finished explaining his plan to his wife, Caitlin.
The family joins a mutant underground organization, where mutants provide help to the wife and children in exchange for Reed Strucker's assistance in a prison break.
After giving his wife another address to meet the mutant, Reed quickly returned to his office, sat down at his computer, and began typing furiously, sending over the Garland prison blueprints he had promised Max.
"Please, please don't let anything happen."
Reed stared blankly at the page showing the email had been successfully sent.
dong dong dong.
The female assistant's footsteps had already reached the office door, and a knock on the door interrupted Reed Strucker's train of thought.
To prevent his female assistant from becoming suspicious, Reed quickly stopped thinking and ran to open the door.
"Reed, the helicopter is ready. Please depart as soon as possible," the female assistant said.
Reed was a little confused. He hadn't received any notification, so why was he suddenly on a helicopter?
"Where to?" he asked quickly.
"Sentinel Headquarters, Supreme Commander Darkholm wants to see you," the female assistant said.
"What?!"
Reed Strucker felt as if he had fallen into an ice cave.
He suspected his phone was being tapped, and that Darkholm knew about his plan to help the mutants break out of prison, and even knew the location where his wife was meeting with the mutants.
Plop, plop.
The sound of orderly footsteps grew louder as fully armed prison guards and sentries lined both sides of the corridor. Judging from their posture, they wouldn't hesitate to use some violent means if Reedstruck refused to cooperate.
Meanwhile, as Reed Strucker was forced to board a helicopter to Sentinel Headquarters, Max finally put down the phone at the headquarters of the mutant underground organization.
Darwin, the dark-skinned boy, opened the email sent by Reed and found that it was indeed the blueprint for Garland Prison that Reed had promised. He couldn't help but exclaim in surprise.
The mutants swarmed forward, staring intently at the blueprints regardless of whether they understood them or not. John Thunderbird was even starting to figure out where to begin his infiltration.
"Guys, I need to go out one more time before the prison break," Max said, clapping his hands to attract everyone's attention.
"Where to?"
Easypai turned her head and asked, her eyes catching Omega taking out a beer bottle from the refrigerator again. She immediately raised an eyebrow and demanded, "Who are you?!"
She quickly turned and patted the others to signal that a stranger had intruded, but as her gaze shifted away from Omega, she had already forgotten about the boy.
"Go meet Lauren and Andy's mother, Catherine, and bring her here," Max said.
Apart from Connors, the other mutants looked visibly puzzled, wondering what Max was up to.
"That call was from Reed Strucker, Andy and Lauren's father," Max explained. "He's also the sentinel who arrested Lorna the Arctic Wolf."
Lauren and Andy, who had been acting as if they were uninvolved, immediately stood up, looking incredulous. They opened their mouths but before they could speak, John the Thunderbird beat them to it.
"What did he say to you?" John Thunderbird asked urgently.
"He's going to bring his whole family to join us. The blueprints of Garland Prison that Darwin received on his computer are his pledge of allegiance," Max said.
The siblings exchanged a glance, their faces unable to hide their joy.
"Leave the picking up the prisoners to me. You take them and discuss the specific details of the prison break. We'll start the operation as soon as I get back," John Thunderbird said.
Max saw that John Thunderbird was acting bravely and didn't stop him: "Watch out for sentries on the road."
John Thunderbird gave an OK sign, then opened the window and jumped out.
"Darwin, zoom in on the blueprints. I want to see the details of the prison."
After John the Thunderbird left, Eclipse Max spoke to Darwin the Dark-skinned Boy.
Apart from John the Thunderbird who left, everyone else, including Omega, gathered around and analyzed the blueprints displayed on the computer screen.
"Here, here—Connors, how wide is your telepathic range?"
Max pointed to two corners on the drawing and asked.
"If the area marked on the blueprints is accurate, I can cover the entire Garland prison," Connors said.
"—That's amazing? Then I can start thinking about this now," Max said in astonishment.
"How about we just have Connors hypnotize everyone in the prison?" Easypai suggested. "That way we can just barge in."
"No." The speaker was Xuan Yin. "The surveillance system in Garan Prison transmits directly back to Sentinel Headquarters. We can only do that by hypnotizing everyone and destroying all the prison's electrical circuits."
"But I need to remind you that there will definitely be backup power supplies in prisons, and there may even be more than one."
Easypai didn't quite understand: "What's the big deal about the surveillance footage being transmitted to Sentinel Headquarters? They can't get to the scene immediately anyway."
"That's true, but what if? To be on the safe side, I suggest we go with an infiltration operation," Eclipse Max agreed.
"The operation is tentatively scheduled for tonight. Connors will be in charge of using telepathy to hypnotize everyone in Garland Prison first, and then we'll proceed along this route—"
Half an hour later, John Thunderbird returned with a woman in her forties.
She is Caitlin Strucker, the mother of Lauren and Andy.
"Darwin, Lauren, and Andy, the three of you stay here. The rest of you come with me."
At Eclipse Max's command, a dilapidated van soon wobbled away from the mutant underground organization's headquarters, heading towards Garland Prison in Garland.
Meanwhile, Reed Strucker had arrived at Sentinel Headquarters and met with the Supreme Commander, Darkholm.
