Chapter 426 The Child of Midnight
Chapter 426 The Child of Midnight
Chapter 426 The Child of Midnight
After several Earths merged into one, a new Earth Zero was formed.
Spider-Gwen discovered that her spider-sense was pointing directly to the ground beneath her feet, as if there was someone deep within the earth whom she had to see.
She was pacing around in confusion, not knowing what was happening, when a yellow, semi-transparent portal, like frosted glass, appeared beside her.
"Wrong? What is this?"
Gwen felt this scene looked familiar; she seemed to have seen this portal somewhere before.
Before she could even think of it, one leg had already stretched out, toes pointed forward, in a perfect ballet pose.
This leg is dressed in a red and black battle suit, with a dagger strapped to its calf and a pistol inserted into its outer thigh.
Spider-Gwen immediately remembered: "Deadpool?!"
Deadpool is here, so Connors should be nearby too, right?
She rushed over and, sure enough, saw Deadpool, swaying his hips, step through the portal and stand before her.
Following them were familiar faces, but they were also quite different from before.
For example, Doctor Strange's cloak has six gems of different colors added to it;
For example, Wolverine is no longer a zombie, but has returned to being a normal human, holding a bottle of beer and drinking heartily;
For example, Deadpool no longer wears the suit he took from the zombie Spider-Man, but instead sports a new outfit.
In addition, there was an honest-looking man whose personality was obvious from his appearance; he was looking around curiously.
Spider-Gwen waited and waited, but Connors never appeared. Even after Deadpool twisted the teleportation device on his waist to close the portal, Connors still didn't show up in front of her.
"Wait a minute, where is he?"
Spider-Gwen grabbed Deadpool's arm in a panic, trying to stop him from closing the portal.
"Who?" Deadpool feigned ignorance.
"Connors the Watcher! Didn't he come with you?" Gwen craned her neck to look behind Deadpool, trying to see if Connors was hiding. "And where is this place?"
Deadpool shrugged: "What monitor? Who is he? Strange, do you know him?"
Doctor Strange, standing to the side with a serious expression, said, "We've never heard of any Monitor Connors."
Dr. Banner was an honest man. He scratched his head. Wasn't he just talking about him in the zombie world? How come he doesn't recognize him after going through a portal?
Wolverine couldn't take it anymore. He raised the bottle into the air, opened his mouth to catch the last drop of liquor, and said to Deadpool and Doctor Strange, "Stop teasing her, can't you see she's about to explode with worry?"
Wolverine has memories of what happened when he became a zombie; he remembers Spider-Gwen, so he didn't do anything as malicious as the other two.
"That's strange. The little doll Connors left behind should have already told you everything," Deadpool said seriously, no longer teasing Gwen.
"You mean Kusama-jin? Uh, I didn't have him with me." Gwen asked, surprised.
"Many worlds have merged into one, including Earth, to support a cosmic war," Doctor Strange said. "We're going to help Connors fight the gods. Do you want to join us?"
Spider-Gwen was startled. A friendly, neighborly superhero going to fight gods? Are you kidding me!
"Don't worry, you're not the main force, you're just adding another chip to Connors's winning formula," Wolverine comforted him from the side.
"Who is the main force?
No sooner had Spider Gwen spoken than a wolf howl echoed from afar.
The sound of wings flapping through the air, followed by the furious roar of a motorcycle engine, grew louder as it approached.
Wolverine extended his steel claws with a whoosh, Dr. Banner stretched his limbs to the side, Deadpool reached behind him for his sword, and Doctor Strange made a hand seal.
Spider Gwen looked in the direction of the sound and saw a streak of fire leading the way—a flaming skeleton riding a fire motorcycle.
To his left was a tall, werewolf-like creature, and to his right was a hideous vampire gliding through the air.
Thump thump thump————
Contrary to expectations, the Flame Skull gradually slowed down, bringing the motorcycle to a stop in front of Strange Bo Shi and his companions.
The flames suddenly blazed brightly for a moment, then went out instantly. The skull shape had disappeared, replaced by a middle-aged man in a leather jacket.
"Are you reinforcements for Connors?"
The person on the motorcycle was none other than Ghost Rider Johnny Blaze, who asked Doctor Strange.
Doctor Strange nodded, and Deadpool craned his neck to stand at the front: "You guys too?"
Johnny grinned. "What do you think?"
"With a dog on your left and a bird flying on your right, I thought you were a hunter." Deadpool has a sharp tongue.
"Connors never told me he had a friend with such a sharp tongue as you," Johnny said, frowning.
"He didn't tell me about the flaming skeleton either—okay, that was pretty cool, can I get a ride?"
Deadpool tried to put his arm around Ghost Rider, but Johnny refused, saying, "My motorcycle doesn't carry passengers."
"Since we're all here for Connors, let's set off as soon as possible?" Spider Gwen was getting impatient.
"Let's go together?" Deadpool rubbed his chin. "Shouldn't we give our group a really cool name so we don't get confused with the Avengers or anything like that?"
"What is the Avengers?" Spider-Gwen wondered to herself.
"We call ourselves the 'Children of Midnight,' and we don't plan to change that name."
The werewolf-like creature spoke, revealing a mouthful of fangs that looked incredibly ferocious.
"Hey buddy, aren't you going to introduce us?" Deadpool said to Johnny familiarly.
"They're the ones I met in the town of San Venganza: Jack the Werewolf and Morbius the Vampire," Johnny said.
"They all call me Doctor Strange," Doctor Strange the Supreme said, stepping forward.
"Logan." Wolverine frantically searched the ground for the beer bottle he had just thrown away, hoping to get some more beer out of it.
"Deadpool, but you can call me baby." Deadpool winked at the werewolf and the vampire.
"Spider Gwen," Gwen said in a clear voice.
"And you?" Johnny asked, noticing a seemingly honest-looking guy standing silently to the side.
"Me?" Dr. Banner seemed to be in a daze. When he heard that he was involved, he stammered, "My situation is quite special—you'll see for yourselves after the battle."
Johnny didn't bother asking any more questions. His encounter with these people was purely coincidental, and he had no intention of befriending them.
"Have you considered joining the Midnight Children?" asked Morbius, the vampire.
"Join! Definitely joining!"
Before anyone else could speak, Deadpool was the first to raise his hand, excitedly heading towards Ghost Rider's motorcycle: "Let's go!"
