Chapter 413 Morian

Chapter 413 Morian

On the dark and boundless earth, countless slender earthworms wriggled around the exhausted Connors, tearing flesh from his body until only a skeleton remained.

Scarlet Witch Wanda stood bewildered to the side, watching as the skeleton collapsed to the ground, then was filled and entangled by countless worms, rose up, and stretched out a hand to her.

"what!"

Wanda screamed and woke up with a start. She covered her head and looked around in shock, her memories gradually becoming clearer.

This is not the world she knows. There are no Avengers or mutants here, only a group of guys called the Lords of Justice protecting this world.

She returned with Connors, and after a very pleasant conversation, she chose to leave Connors temporarily to go for a walk.

Wanda was in a hotel in Manhattan, with the phantom goddess Morian floating above her head.

Did you have a nightmare?

Wanda sat up in bed and nodded:

"Yes, a nightmare."

"According to human understanding, nightmares are messages sent from the subconscious, and they may foreshadow something," Morrigan said.

Wanda got up, dressed, and washed. She wanted to take a stroll through the streets and experience the charm of this new world. In response to Morrigan's suggestion, she replied:

"But you and I both know that this thing is useless against chaos magic."

"I am strong enough, and Connors is even stronger than me. There is no such thing as an 'earthworm' that can stop us."

When Morrigan saw Wanda mention Connors again, she couldn't help but recall the image of three pale, white bodies rolling around in the illusion she had created, and she couldn't help but snort.

The hotel offered a free buffet breakfast. Wanda sampled some of the food and found that the taste was nothing special. Apart from not having the people she knew, this earth wasn't much different.

Molly was hidden inside Wanda's body, and Wanda went out onto the street after finishing her breakfast.

Wanda stopped frequently along the way, and at nine o'clock in the morning, she stopped in a small alley.

The area was cordoned off, and police cars, police officers, and onlookers crowded the place.

"This is the crime scene, sir."

A police officer said to a man in a trench coat who looked like a psychological counselor:

"We have brought the murderer back to the station, but he can't remember anything about what happened. His lawyer is now arguing that he is mentally unstable, so we have no way to convict him."

"Frankly, in this situation, I hope you can help us expose his lies and explain why he did this and what his purpose is."

The psychological consultant looked at the body lying on the ground, covered with a white sheet:

What was the relationship between the murderer and the victim?

"That's the problem, Mr. Consultant," the police officer said helplessly. "They have absolutely no connection, no direct or indirect dealings whatsoever."

"Could you tell me some details of the case, officer?"

The policeman watched as the old man rushed out of the crowd, knelt on the ground, and wept bitterly, snot and tears streaming down his face. He then said to the people around him:

"To calm the family members down and disperse the crowd."

The police officer then looked at the psychological counselor:

"At 7:05 this morning, the deceased passed through this alley. It was closer to her workplace from here. She had been doing this every day for over a year until today."

"The killer obtained legal entry permission to the United States a few years ago. This morning, just minutes before the victim passed by here, he was peeling radishes at the pizzeria where he worked, but then he rushed out with a knife."

"What's your name?" the psychological counselor asked.

Miles.

"I'm asking for the deceased's name."

"Mirina Black".

"Are you sure the deceased's name was that?"

"Yes, absolutely."

The psychological consultant frowned. He was very clear about the six murders in the past six months, making a total of seven murders including this one.

All of these deceased women were named Milina Black.

"Excuse my bluntness, but the cause of this woman's death may be beyond our imagination," the psychological counselor said with a serious expression.

The police officer nodded.

"Yes, it started six months ago when the first body, Milina, was found in Boston. Each Milina was from a different region and had a different cause of death."

"I suggest handing the case over to the Justice League, but before that, I might try to get the killer to talk and find out what really happened," the advisor said.

Scarlet Witch Wanda watched as the police, who were clearing away the crowd, approached her. She was about to step forward to help the police with the case, but when she heard the words "hand over to the Justice League," she shut her mouth.

Wanda had heard Connors mention the "Justice League," the only superhero organization in this world called Earth-3.

The organization contains aliens, robots, descendants of gods, space vigilantes, Martian colonists, and sea dwellers—

There were even ordinary people.

"I have to tell Connors about 'Mirina,' whether it's useful to him or not." Wanda pondered for a moment before following the crowd away from the crime scene.

Morrigan's vision went black:

"Wanda, you're not sending me to deliver messages again, are you? As a modern person, can't you just give him a call?"

Wanda shrugged:

"I don't."

In the Sahara Desert, Connors stood firmly on the ground, manipulating the rolling yellow sand to create a sandstorm, in order to test the limits of his newly acquired "Xuan Gu Power".

Just as he was about to kick the entire desert in half, a thin veil suddenly appeared behind Connors, followed by the appearance of the Phantom Goddess Morian.

"Mollian? Why are you looking for me instead of going with Wanda?" Connors asked, puzzled.

He didn't use telepathy or other abilities to monitor the entire Earth-3 all the time; that would be too tiring and unnecessary. Therefore, he didn't know what was happening on Wanda's side.

"Hmph." Seeing Connors still haughtily snort, Morrigan finally spoke:

"Wanda asked me to pass on a message to you—"

She recounted the story of "Mirina" in detail, including what she had learned from the police and psychological counselors.

"Mirina Black?" Connors kept checking his memories. "I understand. You can go back now."

"?" Morrigan was completely confused. "That's it? You don't need me to pass on a message to Wanda?"

"No need, just take this to Wanda for me, and let her build up her strength during this time, I might need her help." Connors said, tossing Kusama to Morrigan.

"Heng."

Morrigan took Kusama from her, her figure, veiled in a thin gauze, twisted slightly and vanished into thin air in the blink of an eye.
