Chapter 402 Ghost Rider
Chapter 402 Ghost Rider
Chapter 402 Ghost Rider
In Demon Town, apart from the police patrolling the streets and Johnny Blazer's family, everyone had gathered at Zatanna's magic show venue.
Despite being surrounded by these various demons, Zatanna showed no panic. She even cooperated with a demon with a mane on the back of his head, who was on all fours and had pockmarked skin, by performing a rabbit magic trick.
Scarlet Witch Wanda stood to the side with a cold expression, her body emanating a thick crimson mist, while the Phantom Goddess Morian floated halfway out from her right shoulder.
She looked even more demonic than these demons, except that her pale face appeared even more eerie in the crimson mist.
A "police officer" walked by, seemingly about to stop and watch Zatanna's magic show, but then his eyes suddenly turned toward Johnny's house, and he ran over there.
At Johnny's house, Connors, facing Johnny's relentless advance, was forced back to the street outside the door with a knife.
"If you were the Johnny Blaze I know, I believe you wouldn't be blinded by lies, and you'd wake up sooner or later. I don't know who trapped you in this devilish town, but..."
boom!
A police car sped off from the end of the road and crashed into Connors.
"No!"
Even if a stranger were hit by a car so violently, Johnny Blazer wouldn't be able to stand idly by, let alone after Connors had been communicating with him for nearly two hours.
He watched helplessly as the police car made contact with Connors, and just when he thought the man was about to be hit and thrown into the air, a scene that surprised Johnny unfolded.
Connors stood firmly in place without moving, while the police car began to collapse inwards little by little from the front where it made contact with Connors.
Bumper bar, engine, cockpit...
The front half of the police car was completely crushed into a giant iron disc by Connors, and the officer sitting in the driver's seat coughed up blood on the spot and turned into someone with three pairs of arms and six fists, each fist wearing a pair of knuckle dusters.
"Johnny Blaze, open your eyes and wake up!"
Connors gently pushed aside the police car that had been wrecked, leaking gasoline, and beginning to catch fire, and said:
"This world needs a spirit of vengeance."
Johnny Blaze's head twitched again as he stared intently at the flames engulfing the police car.
He saw a series of hellish scenes within the flames:
The base consists of four human heads resting together, with a pole erected in the center, covered with severed arms and legs, and a cross-shaped altar at the very top.
In a pitch-black space, inside a small, brightly lit white room, a young woman is suspended in the air by barbed wire piercing her body.
A three-tailed raven flew past in front of the moon, below which stretched an endless cemetery. A child leaned against a tombstone, playing with a Rubik's Cube made of eyeballs.
A group of lawyers and judges were sentencing people in court, and each of them had a brightly colored spider lurking beneath their tongues.
"This world needs spirits of vengeance—"
Connors' voice rang in Johnny's ears once again, and the police car, which had leaked gasoline all over the ground, finally exploded with a loud bang.
Johnny finally let out a scream, clutching his head and kneeling on the ground.
The vengeful spirit of this world is trapped, and Connors strongly suspects that if he doesn't help him, Johnny might be trapped in this devilish town for the rest of his life.
"Johnny, if you feel lost, you can find me by following the direction of dawn." Connors said, turning into black smoke and disappearing from the spot.
He didn't leave. To get to the bottom of the drama, Connors, along with Zatanna and Wanda, stayed high in the sky, looking down at the Devil Town below, where flames were gradually rising.
"Wait, don't go!"
Johnny reached out to stop Connors, but his hand only grasped at thin air.
"Johnny, who are you talking to?"
At that moment, Johnny's wife suddenly shouted.
As Zatanna left, the crowd that had come to watch the magic show gradually gathered in front of Johnny's house, filling the street completely.
"Johnny, get out of there before the car explodes! We don't want to see you get hurt!"
The wife reached out to grab Johnny, but Johnny, who was kneeling on the ground, covered the wound on his head with his hand. He suddenly became angry, and with a sharp swing of the fruit knife in his hand, he cut off four of his wife's fingers and left them on the ground.
"Hiss!"
Johnny's wife couldn't help but make a reptilian sound.
He saw that his wife had reverted to the slender, frog-like figure he had seen when he opened the door, squatting on the ground with loose skin and disheveled hair.
He picked up the severed finger from the ground, took off the ring that had once been worn by this "wife," and threw it into the flames of the burning car.
"You can't do that, Johnny!"
The wife screamed in terror, but it was too late.
A deafening roar, like a natural gas explosion, was heard, and a huge mushroom-shaped flame rose from the town, eventually transforming into a massive flaming skull.
From the high altitude where Connors was, it seemed as if there were gazes projected from the eye sockets of that skull, staring intently at him.
The next moment, Johnny Blaze on the ground clutched his head in agony, his fingernails tearing the flesh and skin attached to his skull.
The flesh and blood turned into flames, causing Johnny Rizer to laugh wildly, his voice growing increasingly insane and filled with rage.
Rivets popped out of his leather jacket, and flames occasionally burst out from inside.
"Who? Who did this?" Johnny Blaze looked around at the residents of Demon Town. "Who locked me up here?"
His appearance at this moment was completely different from the previous Johnny. His head had turned into a burning skull, with flames rising from his eye sockets. He had completely transformed into "Ghost Rider".
In contrast, the villagers finally revealed their true forms, each transforming into a disgusting and ferocious demon, like a pack of dogs that had been skinned alive.
"Johnny, don't do that—"
The demon playing Johnny's wife begged for mercy.
"There's no Johnny here, only Ghost Rider."
Johnny grabbed the crushed police car door and yanked it open, tossing it aside. He then took out a chain from inside the car, which was covered in flames. He stretched out his skeletal fingers and stretched them out until they formed a chain engulfed in flames.
Amidst the clanging of chains, one of the demons couldn't contain himself and pounced.
But Johnny simply swung the chains lightly, and the demon was instantly burned to pieces, leaving only a skeleton.
Johnny blew on the skeleton, and it immediately shattered into pieces.
"Don't kill us, Johnny. This town isn't here to trap you, it's here to protect you. We can take care of you and provide you with any kind of pleasure—"
Johnny's wife hissed as she hastily explained.
"Pain is pleasure." In Johnny's eyes, flames swirled and engulfed his "wife."
A dozen minutes later, the demon town, which originally had a population of several thousand, was completely engulfed in flames. All the houses and streets in the town were covered in flames, and the corpses of the demons lay scattered on the ground behind Ghost Rider.
"There are indeed monsters in this world."
"And I am the worst monster."
With a low murmur to himself, Johnny straddled his motorcycle and sped off toward the rising sun, leaving a straight trail of flames behind him.
