Chapter 378 Future
Chapter 378 Future
"This place used to be vibrant, but now it feels like a cemetery."
Red Robin looked down at the deep pit in the rock beneath his feet and said...
Standing next to him were Rachel Rose ("Raven"), Superboy, Flash, and Aurora.
"Wonder Woman," who was also one of them, was not there; she remained on Earth Zero.
"The power transfer from the Silent Armor seems to have affected this land," Red Robin said.
Aurora, whose entire body was shrouded in black and covered with blue cracks, said:
"We came here to solve this problem, and through it, to find our lost sister Cassie and Corian."
"We need to completely expose the graveyard to see what caused Cassie's anomaly, leading her to deviate from her intended path through the portal," Superboy said.
As soon as he finished speaking, he fell into the deep pit, his hands embedded straight into the hard rock, and then he lifted it up with all his might.
"Please hold on a little longer, I'm going down to take a closer look," Red Robin said, and jumped down.
As soon as she regained her footing and her eyes adjusted to the darkness of the pit, Red Robin's gaze was drawn to the murals carved on the rock wall:
"Everyone?"
The other Teen Titans who hadn't gone down immediately tensed up:
"Any discoveries, Red Robin?"
"Cassie's situation seems more complicated than we thought; it might be related to 'Sannomiya,'" Red Robin's voice came from the bottom of the pit.
"It is indeed related to him."
A voice, both invigorating and incredulous, came from the sky.
Superboy looked up and saw Connors descending from the sky amidst swirling black smoke. He was so excited that he almost dropped the giant rock he was carrying.
"Connors!"
As a "Superboy," Cony Al has always regarded "Superman" of the Justice League as his role model, and Connors, who is also a top-level fighter, naturally became his role model as well.
In addition, influenced by "Raven" and "Wonder Woman," it's no wonder that Superboy is so excited at this moment.
But Red Robin, who was trapped in the pit, was terrified and roared from below:
"Kang! Don't let go!"
If hundreds of tons of rock were to fall, no matter how much he learned from Batman, he would be turned into a pancake.
The girl "Raven" was equally excited; she wanted nothing more than to pounce on Connors, but since there was another person she didn't know present besides the Teen Titan, Raven had to give up.
The person she didn't recognize was naturally "Super Girl" Kara.
Compared to Connors' relatively calm demeanor upon seeing the Teen Titans members, Kara was incredibly excited; she spotted the "S" logo on Superboy's chest.
"Cousin?"
The excited expression on Superboy's face froze for a moment:
"Cousin? Me?"
Connors, seeing that Supergirl Cara had mistaken him for someone else, quickly corrected her:
"No, it's not him. Your cousin is 'Superman,' he's 'Superboy.'"
Kara's excited expression froze:
"Then he—is he a cousin?"
She herself was still a young woman in her early twenties, but the super kid in front of her looked to be about the same age as her, which left Kara a little bewildered.
"No, he is—." Connors hesitated for a moment.
He knew that Superboy was a clone, but Connors was worried that saying it directly would hurt Superboy's pride.
Surprisingly, Superboy Kang Al is quite open-minded about being a clone:
"If Superman is your cousin, then you're his older cousin?"
"I have to warn you, that's complete nonsense," Red Robin said to Superboy as he climbed out of the pit.
"I really want to be a real Kryptonian, but unfortunately I'm not. I was just a clone," Superboy said to Kara.
Supergirl Kara Ran was momentarily at a loss as to how to react to the clone.
But Superboy seemed to have good emotional intelligence; he proactively changed the subject, looking at Red Robin:
"What is 'Sannomiya'?"
He remembered that Red Robin had called out that name from the pit just now.
The young raven hesitated to speak, for no one present knew "Sannomiya" better than her, simply because he was her father.
"Sanguin is the source of the Trinity myth in many religions; he could be God, or—" Red Robin said, "Although it's a legend, he did exist, and he is the father of 'Raven.'"
The young raven nodded, agreeing with Red Robin's statement.
Seeing the raven nod, Red Robin knew he could continue, but only then did he belatedly jump up on the spot.
An expression as if they'd seen a ghost:
"Wait, Outsider? And Starfire, Cassie? What are you doing here?"
"We were just about to discuss how to rescue you," Aurora added from the side.
"I'm also curious why I ran into you guys," Connors said.
He briefly recounted what had happened to the magical girl Cassie:
"I followed the direction of 'Sangokuma' from her memories to get here, but I never expected to run into you all."
"Did you also stray from the teleportation portal to the future?" Starfire Corianda asked.
Upon hearing this, the expressions of the young Titans all became somewhat strange. After a long pause, Lightning Boy spoke up:
"This is the 'future' we are here to protect—"
"And less than ten minutes have passed since we came out of the portal," Aurora said.
Just as the group was about to discuss the issue, Connors suddenly looked in a certain direction.
Next, Supergirl Kara also looked in that direction, followed closely by Superboy and Raven.
Before Kid Flash could realize anything, he was about to speak when Superboy stopped him:
"Shh, guys."
Lightning Boy looked up blankly:
"What does 'shh' mean? Has God appeared to you?"
Superboy shook his head, then secretly glanced at Connors and Supergirl Cara:
"I sensed something rapidly gathering in the distance, right at the edge of the horizon, in great numbers."
As soon as he finished speaking, a thin line of blood appeared on the horizon.
A few seconds later, the bloodline was almost upon them. It was a giant wave composed of countless humanoid monsters whose bodies were covered with spikes, and it was surging toward them.
The giant waves were hundreds of meters high and stretched from the far left to the far right of our line of sight, seemingly endless.
"They're after Cassie," Red Robin said.
The appearance of these monsters is so similar to that of the magical girl Cassie, who wears the Silent Armor.
"Guys, get ready for battle," Superboy said, glancing furtively at Connors.
"Stop peeking at me," Connors said helplessly, stepping forward and patting Superboy on the shoulder. "To save time, leave these to me."
Superboy Kang Al's eyes lit up immediately; that was exactly what he was waiting for.
The young raven also pricked up its ears, its heart pounding as it waited to witness Connors's move.
