Chapter 361 The Red Sun
Chapter 361 The Red Sun
Chapter 361 The Red Sun
The destruction of Krypton is certainly a fact, but Connors was somewhat surprised that "Supergirl" Kara would go drinking in such a dangerous red sun system for Kryptonians.
Carla looked up, and her face, which she had been deliberately hiding behind her hood, was now exposed to Connors's eyes.
Connors sat motionless on the stool, while Kara reached out and grabbed the longsword that the bounty hunter had hung at his waist:
"Wait, don't move."
The burly man, as imposing as an iron tower, finally noticed that the guy who had been silently drinking to the side was also a woman, and he couldn't help but let out an impatient sound:
"Good heavens! It's Women's Day today? Otherwise, why are all these women coming to cause me trouble?"
He stopped in his tracks, about to step out of the bar, his large, round eyes fixed on "Supergirl" Kara:
"Take your hands off me, or I'll cut them off."
Kara shook her head without making a sound.
The bounty hunter was staring intently at him, but Kara didn't even look up, one hand gripping the hilt of her longsword, the other still holding her wine glass.
The bounty hunter, seeing that Karamen showed no fear towards him, then glanced at Connors:
"You two know each other?"
"I don't know him," Connors replied in fluent local dialect.
The bounty hunter moved his lips but didn't speak. His hunter's instincts told him that the man and woman drinking at the table both exuded an extremely dangerous aura. After quickly weighing his options, his tone softened:
"Listen carefully, I took this sword to kill that guy named Krim. Trust me, I will definitely return it afterward."
Connors laughed when he heard that:
"This sword is payment for killing Krim. If you killed Krim, what's the point of returning the sword?"
"Then why won't you let me take the sword?" the bounty hunter asked knowingly. The girl, her eyes gleaming with hatred, also approached, her stomach rumbling before she spoke:
"Now that you've taken the sword, I have no leverage to trade with anyone else, and I can't guarantee that you won't actually kill Krim."
"So you're saying I can't take this sword today no matter what?" Anger gradually crept onto the bounty hunter's face. "Come on, even three against one, you might not be able to beat me. The loser gets out of the bar!"
"Supergirl" Cara wore an old coat that covered her figure completely, but thankfully her face was clean and her hair was still smooth, making her appearance as mesmerizing as the night sky.
The bounty hunter stood there, looking down at Kara. He was unsure of who this exceptionally beautiful woman was. Just as he was wondering, Kara spoke:
"Just walk out of the bar quietly, and I won't fight you, because today is my birthday."
"What kind of bullshit birthday celebration is this?" The bounty hunter was completely enraged. He drew his own longsword from the other side of his waist and pointed it at Kara:
"I have neither time nor patience for fools. If you believe in any god, then hurry up and spend some time praying."
"Because you're going to see them soon."
Kara, instead, laughed, raising her face to look at the furious bounty hunter:
"Don't be angry, I was just telling the truth. Why didn't you wish me a happy birthday?"
"I wish you bad luck!" The bounty hunter gripped his longsword with both hands in reverse, thrusting the tip straight at Kara's hand holding the sword.
A starving, thin girl nearby let out a gasp. Connors shifted to a more comfortable position, enjoying the spectacle before him. "I suggest you calm down a bit. You'll regret angering me."
"Supergirl" still had a smile on her face. With a slight flick of her arm, she drew the longsword and dodged the bounty hunter's thrust.
With a clang, the bounty hunter's sword pierced the bar table. He then gripped the hilt and swung it sharply, aiming the sword at Kara's neck.
Kara seemed to have drunk quite a bit, appearing somewhat dazed. Facing the sword aimed at her throat, she simply leaned back, barely dodging the blade, but her tattered coat was ripped open.
With a crashing sound, the sword swept all the wine on the table to the ground, shattering the glasses and bottles.
Fortunately, Connors reacted quickly and saved his bottle.
"I'm going to rip your guts out!" the bounty hunter shouted, brandishing his sword.
"Hey, I told you to stop and calm down, you f**k! When will you ever stop?!"
Kara finally couldn't help but stand up, but her posture was unsteady, as if she were really drunk.
She held her longsword horizontally in front of her to block the bounty hunter's continued attack, while her other hand haphazardly grabbed at something on the table, muttering under her breath:
"Stop! Stop! Please!"
Connors glanced at Carla and silently handed her the only unbroken bottle he had.
The bounty hunter took a deep breath. He realized he had been far too irritable today and definitely needed to calm down.
"Surrender? Good thing you know what's good for you. I'll let you go today—"
Carla tilted her head back and gulped down the drink Connors handed her:
"What I mean is that we should settle other scores, like the fact that you smashed all my wine."
"What nonsense are you spouting?" the bounty hunter shouted.
Carla drank every last drop of the liquor, which made Connors grimace. He thought the stuff was really hard to drink and wondered how Carla could drink it.
Kara raised the hand holding the longsword, wiped her mouth with her sleeve, and didn't even look at the bounty hunter.
"Fine, since you've already left the longsword, let's move on."
"It's over. You can go now. Be careful not to get hurt when you leave."
Sure enough, the bounty hunter started to leave, but "Supergirl" Kara suddenly raised the hand that was holding the bottle and smashed it into the bounty hunter's mouth.
"You, you dare!" Blood immediately stained the bounty hunter's mouth, and his face turned extremely ferocious.
The shards of the bottle were embedded in his mouth, causing him excruciating pain, and his violent rage surged even higher.
He wasn't the only one in pain; Carla herself was also in pain, her face contorted as she looked at her hand, which had been cut by shards of a broken bottle.
"F**k! Because of this red sun, I'll get hurt too—"
"Are you feeling pain now?" The bounty hunter sneered, licking the blood from the corner of his mouth. The remaining shards of the bottle only fueled his urge to devour this "supergirl" alive.
He gripped his longsword with both hands again and slashed at Kara:
"I won't be fawned over, especially by some women—"
Boom!
Kara ducked to avoid the slash, then stomped forward with one foot, grabbed the bounty hunter's sword-wielding arm, and hurled him over his shoulder.
Before the bounty hunter could even finish speaking, Kara snatched the sword from his hand.
The Kryptonian woman held a longsword in each hand, the tips of which were pointed at the bounty hunter's throat.
