Chapter 222 Vulture

Chapter 222 Vulture

"who I am?"

"You are Max, an electrical engineer who is marginalized at work."

"What happened?"

"You were given a huge amount of work by your colleagues and didn't finish until late at night, then you were struck by lightning."

"Am I... alright?"

"The voltage in your body is approaching ten million volts—I mean, your physical condition is better than ever before."

"Who are you?"

"My name is Otto Octavius, but many people call me 'Doctor Octopus'."

"Where is this?"

"This is the sewers. We can no longer go back to living normal lives. God has chosen you and me. As long as we defeat Gwen and that other guy, we can conquer the whole world."

Max blankly put on the white coat that "Doctor Octopus" handed him.

His engineer's clothes were charred by lightning, as were his shoes.

Max, who was ostracized at work and disliked in life, looked at "Doctor Octopus" and realized that this was the first time someone had spoken to him in such a gentle tone.

Max instinctively felt a sense of kinship with "Doctor Octopus." He hesitated for a moment before asking:

"What do we need to do?"

"Doctor Octopus" signaled to Max to calm down:

"Don't rush. I can handle Gwen on my own. The real trouble is that other guy wearing a red and blue spider suit—"

"He was wearing a mask, thinking he could hide his identity, but his voice was completely unmasked. I recognized him as the trench coat man who had come to find me with Gwen."

"I need to gather people now and work together to deal with that guy in the trench coat."

"I think there's someone who would be interested in him."

Doctor Octopus's robotic arm waved in the air, and Max vaguely recognized it as writing a word. He tentatively read it aloud:

"hunter?"

"That's right, a hunter!" Doctor Octopus waved his mechanical arm excitedly. "I need to contact a hunter named Craven; he'll definitely be interested in this guy with such amazing skills!"

Max swallowed hard, spread his fingers, and watched the electricity coursing through his veins and bones, a surge of excitement rising within him.

"Are there only three of us?"

"No! There's more!"

"Doctor Octopus" put a pair of round glasses on his face with his robotic arm. His voice was unusually gentle, but his expression was extremely ferocious.

"Gwen has sent a lot of people to prison, and I'm sure there are people who wish they could kill her."

"Although we're dealing with that guy in the trench coat, we can still use him."

"How are you feeling as you recover? I just gave you a full-body checkup with the equipment, and your body is perfectly fine, but it may take you some time to adjust."

Max lowered his hand in despair:

"No, I'm just an electrical engineer, I'm not even married yet—I just want to make more money, I don't want to conquer the world with you."

"Make more money? If we become the masters of this world, money will just be a ridiculous number!" Doctor Octopus's voice remained gentle.

But his eyes were fixed on Max, as if he wanted to devour him whole.

Being timid by nature and used to being bullied, Max instinctively shrank back. He didn't dare refuse "Doctor Octopus" and could only say in an almost pleading tone:

"So—when do we start?"

He wanted to stall for time as much as possible so he could find a way to return to being a normal person.

But "Doctor Octopus" clearly thought differently from him:

"Now!"

"Gwen is fighting a guy in green armor and has no time to deal with us, which is the perfect opportunity for us to make our move!"

""

"Our target this time is a guy named Herman from a New York prison. He's not very skilled, but he's perfect for leading the charge, and his 'impact gloves' might be a good counter to that guy in the trench coat."

His nickname is "Thriller."

Without hesitation, "Doctor Octopus" was about to set off to break Max out of prison. In fact, if it weren't for the sudden discovery that Max was covered in a large amount of electricity after being struck by lightning, "Doctor Octopus" would already be on his way to prison.

Max carefully walked barefoot through the sewers. "Doctor Octopus" thought he was too slow, so he simply grabbed him with a mechanical arm, and the two of them moved through the sewers as fast as geckos.

Twenty minutes later, the two stopped, and the two mechanical arms on "Doctor Octopus's" back joined together to form a drill.

With a loud bang, it pierced through the ground above.

He chose a spot perfectly positioned, right in the same cage where "Terrifying" Herman was located.

"ha!"

Herman was lying listlessly on his prison bed when he saw a hole suddenly appear in the floor. Without even thinking about it,

He leaped off.

The only problem now is that Max is in a very tense state of mind. He was just struck by lightning and hasn't yet adapted to the powerful energy within him.

Max, who was looking down at his hands, was startled by the "horror" that jumped into the hole.

He almost instinctively pushed the other person away with both hands.

It's sizzling!

Without warning, intense blue-white lightning shot out from Max's hands and struck "Terrifying" Herman squarely in the chest.

Herman's face still held the joy of escaping from prison. His expression froze at that moment, and he fell straight down as a powerful electric current burned through his chest.

"I—I killed someone?!"

Max nervously backed away, then frantically clutched his head and crouched on the ground.

"Doctor Octopus" stared blankly as his helper "Surprise," whom he had searched for over twenty minutes, died so casually. Before he could say anything, a round of applause rang out from the side.

clap clap clap!

The one clapping was another prisoner in the jail; he had a hooked nose, was bald, and had eyes as sharp as an eagle's.

"'Doctor Octopus'? Gold bars in the bank aren't enough for you, so you even have to go to prison to look for something?"

A bald man with a hooked nose clapped his hands as he walked up to "Dr. Octopus," standing only one iron cage between them.

"The only useful people here are the prisoners. I bet you're planning something big. How about I join you?"

"My name is Adrian Tooms, but you can also call me by another name—'The Vulture'."

While "Doctor Octopus" and "Vulture" were talking across the iron cage, Max, still in the sewers, stared intently at "Horror," whom he had killed with his own hands.

Max thought of the humiliations he had suffered at the electrical company, and his gaze slowly hardened:

"I used to be afraid of you, but now you should be afraid of what you've done—"

"My name is 'Den-O' (Electric King)."
