Chapter 538 The New World
When Rune brought Loki back to Asgard, Odin and Thor were waiting for them on the broken Rainbow Bridge. Thor had an obvious, sly smile on his face, clearly having heard something from the other gods.
Behind the scenes, Loki's teeth were practically shattering, but on the surface, he still needed to maintain his public persona.
"Father, elder brother—" he bowed respectfully.
Odin's face remained expressionless. He simply scrutinized Loki for a moment before saying, "Since Rune wants you to do something, do it well and don't get any funny ideas."
As he spoke, he patted Loki on the shoulder, which was the most intimate gesture Odin had ever made to him, and Loki's smile immediately became genuine.
Odin's family has just as many problems as the Bat-family. As a father, Odin's love for his two sons is genuine, but as the God-King, he must always maintain his dignity. As a hidden master strategist, he can only choose to treat his two sons differently to ensure that everything goes in the best possible direction.
Fortunately, Rune's involvement not only helped the Norse gods escape the major event of the secret war, but also indirectly helped them break free from the cycle of Ragnarok, allowing Odin to finally act in accordance with his own heart.
So he immediately imprisoned Thor for several years.
Thor remains the first in line to the throne of Asgard, but Odin feels that his behavior is too close to mortals and may have a negative impact on the future of Asgard.
As for Loki—Odin was finally able to show some care, albeit barely.
Please forgive him. Odin had long been placed on the throne of the gods. Even though he secretly wished to give this wicked boy a good hug, the only thing he could do in the end was to pat him on the shoulder.
Loki suppressed the smirk that was creeping onto his face, trying not to be impolite out of his excitement. "Yes, Father."
However, when Loki saw Odin turn around and put his arm around Rune's neck, looking like he was hooking up with a myna bird, the smile on Loki's face stiffened.
But then Thor, just like Odin, put his arm around himself.
"Haha, I saw you being lifted up by Rune, I swear I've never seen you so obedient in my life." Thor laughed loudly at Loki, who just rolled his eyes.
Even if you were to face the majesty of the sun directly, you would still be just as pathetic.
The moment Rune returned, Odin explained the agreement between himself and Athena.
The most important point is that the Greek pantheon in the DC universe is willing to relinquish a portion of its faith, allowing the Norse pantheon in the Marvel universe to send gods to reside there, and in the future, whichever side is attacked, the other side must help.
It seems that the Greek gods were trading faith for military presence, which appeared to be a loss for them. However, in reality, the Norse pantheon mainly operated within the universe of Runes, a universe where there were very few entities that could pose a threat to Odin's faction, let alone wage war against the entire Norse pantheon.
As for the Greek pantheon, they faced incursions from individuals or organizations such as Brainiac, Darkseid, and the Red Lanterns, so it's actually hard to say who would gain or lose.
As for who the garrison commander is—
Needless to say? Odin already knew that Rune had released Thor's comrades back to the mortal realm. If anything happened to Thor, those mortals would immediately come to his aid, and it would also reduce the Asgardians' losses.
It's worth noting that some of these superheroes possess abilities that even Odin admires.
Rune listened calmly to Odin's narration, occasionally asking a question or two. That evening, Thor kept him at a banquet, where he witnessed an Asgardian feast.
It was called a banquet, but it was really just eating meat, drinking, and fighting. Odin didn't stop them. He and Frigga sat on the stage, watching with serious expressions as Fandral, Volstagg, and Hogan fought thin air—they originally wanted to attack Loki, but were tricked by his magic.
Thor, meanwhile, laughed heartily, believing that the Warriors Three were simply playing a trick on everyone!
The serpent did not attend the banquet; he merely came to the venue, took some wine and food, and then left. The serpent felt unsuitable for the occasion, and feared that if he became drunk and revealed his true form, he might destroy the palace.
During the banquet, Rune also keenly noticed that Thor's belly seemed to have shrunk a little, and only a few hours had passed.
As expected of gods, as long as their fighting spirit is rekindled, they can quickly return to their peak condition.
Finally, as Odin and Frigga bid farewell, Rune led Thor and Loki to Mount Olympus, declined Athena's offer to continue the banquet, and after settling the two gods in, immediately returned home.
Rune was quite anxious; he knew the system was reminding him that a new world was about to arrive.
The smoke of the Battle of Mount Hyjal has not yet cleared, and the armies of the Alliance and the Horde are locked in a difficult standoff on the barren lands of Kalimdor.
Despite the warning from the Guardian Medivh, which temporarily set aside their deep-seated hatred and jointly defeated Archimonde, the vanguard of the Burning Legion, the bridge of trust remained fragile. Just as Thrall and Jaina were having one tense and restrained meeting after another, the sky was torn apart.
It wasn't the fel energy green of demons, nor the ghostly blue of arcane magic; countless rays of various colors shot out. A massive army, like dark clouds, blocked out the sunlight, and sat atop the warships, the man whose features were obscured, his eyes flashing crimson.
Just as Thrall and Jaina were about to question who they were, the crimson light in the man's eyes seemed to have a mind of its own, and it turned and attacked the two leaders.
The leader's attack emboldened these hunched yet still towering figures, who swooped down and charged straight into the armies of the tribe and the alliance, completely disregarding the fact that their actions were a provocation against the two most powerful forces on the planet.
They have already destroyed countless planets and killed countless creatures.
The Horde and the Alliance fought with all their might, but the Alliance's fortified fortresses and the Horde's ferocious charges were no match for the heavy fire of the skyships—
They were easily defeated under the pressure of force, and the soldiers were all more difficult to deal with than one another.
They are either incredibly strong or capable of spewing fire or ice—they don't seem like professionals at all, but their destructive power is in no way inferior. In melee combat, even the strongest orc cannot guarantee that they can suppress their opponent.
During the battle, both the Horde and the Alliance suffered heavy casualties.
Faced with an absolute threat that transcends factional hatred, Thrall and Jaina made the most difficult yet decisive decision in Azeroth's history: a comprehensive and unconditional military alliance, but this alliance was still at a disadvantage.
But today, things seem to have changed slightly—a male mage has descended upon the continent of Azeroth.
